We have a commercial flock of katahdin sheep. We selected this breed because the meat quality is outstanding. Since the sheep have hair instead of wool the meat is mild without the lanolin flavor. Our sheep are grassfed making the meat lean and higher in good fats like omega-3s. Lambs are around 65-90 lbs live weight. Butcher dates are available first come first serve October-December. We currently use Hoffman Meats in Cardington, Ohio for processing.
We also have a limited number of select breeding ewe lambs and ram lambs in August. These lambs are out of our best mothers, with highest birth rates, disease resistance, and finishing weights. The mothers of our select lambs give birth without assistance and raise their lambs by themselves on grass without needing supplemented by us.
